Five Best Selling Knitting Patterns of 2022
On these last days of the year, I’m thinking about all the knitting projects I would like to make in 2023. As usual, my list is longer than I will probably accomplish but I’m looking forward to keeping my needles busy… and using some beautiful yarn that I’ve purchased in the last couple of years.
There are a couple of new knitting patterns in the works… so stay tuned! Sign up for my newsletter if you would like to receive new pattern announcements in your inbox!
Today, I’m taking a look at the top five best selling knitting patterns from my Fifty Four Ten Studio collection in 2022. I love seeing which patterns knitters select for their knitting projects!
FIVE BEST SELLING FIFTY FOUR TEN STUDIO KNITTING PATTERNS IN 2022:
#1 - ON THE PORCH BLANKET KNITTING PATTERN:
The best selling knitting pattern in my collection is the On the Porch blanket knitting pattern. This pattern is a popular choice for both beginning knitters and experienced knitters who enjoy a simple, easy-to-knit project.
This blanket pattern has been used for many baby blanket projects, as well as comfy throws and afghans. One of my all time favorite projects is the sweet little baby blanket that my dear friend made with a beautiful, variegated yarn.
On the Porch blanket looks attractive with either solid color or a subtle multi-color yarn. The simple design allows a beautiful yarn to be the “star of the show”.
I used Blue Sky Fibers Organic Cotton Worsted in the ‘Drift’ colorway for the blanket shown above. It’s a luxurious yarn with fantastic stitch definition.
The PDF pattern includes instructions for six blanket sizes.

#2 - ALL THESE PLACES BLANKET KNITTING PATTERN:
The #2 best seller in my collection is the All These Places blanket. The perfect combination of knit and purl stitches creates the illusion of basket weaving. With bulky #5 weight yarn the blanket knits up fairly quickly. (See some yarn suggestions in my blog post about bulky yarns.)
The name for my ‘All These Places’ blanket knitting pattern was inspired by all these places that bring back fond memories that are woven together with love for the people who were there: my grandparents’ home that inspired the name Fifty Four Ten Studio (their house number was 5410), the living room where our family gathered for holiday celebrations, the stores where we shopped in our neighborhood, and much more.
The PDF knitting pattern includes instructions for six blanket sizes so you can pick the size that suits your project needs.

#3 - MAKING PLANS BLANKET KNITTING PATTERN:
Coming in at #3 is the Making Plans blanket knitting pattern. Each purl stitch in the center of this blanket design represents the numerous little tasks that must be completed when making plans… especially big plans: starting a new business, graduating from school, welcoming a child to the family, moving to a new home, getting a first apartment, starting college, celebrating a wedding.
Knitters have used this pattern to make blankets for wedding gifts, new babies in their family and young adults moving into their first apartment.
The ‘Making Plans’ blanket is designed for worsted or heavy worsted #4 weight yarn. The pattern includes instructions for six blanket sizes from baby blanket up to XXL afghan.

#4 - THESE DAYS BLANKET KNITTING PATTERN:
These Days Blanket pattern is #4 on the list of best-selling patterns. This reversible blanket knitting pattern has been very popular for baby blanket projects and cozy throws.
The name for my ‘These Days Blanket’ pattern was inspired by the boxes on my paper calendar where I write notes about what I did each day. Keeping these notes on my calendar helps me remember to value these days.
The PDF knitting pattern includes instructions for six blanket sizes from a tiny baby blanket up to XL afghan.

#5 - LOOK FOR HAPPINESS BLANKET KNITTING PATTERN:
And, #5 on the list of best selling patterns is the Look for Happiness blanket knitting pattern.
This blanket features lots of texture! An interesting stitch pattern fills the center of the blanket and it is framed by a stockinette stitch inner border and seed stitch outer border. The blanket is knit in one piece on long circular knitting needles using only knit and purl stitches.
For the blue blanket above, I used Blue Sky Fibers Organic Cotton Worsted in the ‘Mediterranean’ colorway. This gorgeous yarn has fantastic stitch definition that accentuates all the details in this blanket pattern.
This design was inspired by frequent requests for a worsted weight version of the Over the Rooftops chunky blanket pattern.
The PDF pattern includes instructions for six blanket sizes from baby blanket up to XXL afghan.
