At first glance you might think this pattern is just simple garter stitch. Look again! An easy K3, P3 repeat pattern creates a subtle striping effect.

The name of this pattern is inspired by the beautiful tree lined boulevards of my hometown….Kansas City.

I just taught my son’s girlfriend how to knit and she made your Boulevard Blanket in a beautiful shade of dark teal. She completed it masterfully and is now knitting a market bag! Thank you for providing your lovely and skillfully written patterns.

KNITTING NEEDLES:
The blanket is knit in one piece, back and forth on 32” long circular knitting needles US size 13 or 15.

GAUGE:
Exact gauge is not essential. However, knitting should be fairly tight for desired appearance.

YARN SUGGESTIONS:

This pattern will work well with many super bulky yarns in both solid and variegated colorways. However, I do not recommend chenille style yarns because the soft yarn does not have the stitch definition to show off the pattern.

Lion Brand Hometown (100% Acrylic) - For the blue blanket shown in the photos I used Lion Brand Hometown in 'Washington Denim'. This yarn is very soft… but also has great stitch definition so the pattern really ‘pops’. It’s easy to knit with and very economical. Shop: LionBrand.com (US) and LoveCrafts.com (ships to US, Canada, UK, EU and many countries around the world)

Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick (80% Acrylic / 20% Wool) - I have used this yarn for many blanket projects including my Winter Dance blanket and Game Time blanket. Great stitch definition. Shop: LionBrand.com and LoveCrafts.com.

Lion Brand Re-Spun Thick & Quick (100% recycled polyester) - This yarn is spun from recycled plastics. It’s surprisingly soft with fantastic stitch definition. Generously sized skeins each contain 223 yards (340 grams). Attractive collection of muted colorways. I particularly like ‘Night Sky’, ‘Whipped Cream’, ‘Pumice Stone’, ‘Silver’ and ‘Olive Branch’. Shop: LionBrand.com
